Fun fact: the laryngeal nerve in giraffes extends down through their necks and around their aorta, the super-artery that all other major arteries branch from, then goes back up to their voicebox. Also, the neck isn't long because it has extra vertebrae, just extra long vertebrae so their necks aren't very flexible. It really is an absolute mess of an animal.
