problem is, I don't think that's one of Kovac's. Without his hammer, he's lucky if he lives through it.

There are days when you just gotta look back and ask "How did I get here?".

Forgetting his hammer has got to be like forgetting keys to us. Only an inconvenience at first, then you get the inevitable "Oh sh*t" moment.

I like to think he's got a speech impediment where he knows words and understands them, but cant say anything. Thus, letting him scream wordlessly but we never get any dialogue from him.

granted though almost every Link is a different Link. Link's not even really his name so much as a title considering they're a link back to the previous hero...

Actually that's a common and accepted theory, that Zelda games tend to each take place on a sort of mutliverse setup in which every story is essentially a parallel Hyrule, Majora's Mask and Phantom Hourglass not withstanding.

If that is the case one can probably take the universe in which Link talks and send Superboy Prime in there to whine about it until it implodes in upon itself. Everybody happy!

well I mean generally speaking every game has had some sort of mention back to what its time line predecessor would have been. Beginning with Ocarina of time and ending with Wind Waker (I mean, the world drowned. Its all over.)
