As promised, here is a little teaser for my collection of "how to's" which will be available at the end of this year :D
Does this all make sense? Are the steps/description easy to follow?
This is a guideline, not a fix law, always remember that^^ The canine is more of a fox-type or jackal or maybe coyote because of the slim muzzle and large ears :)

Great :D Yes I know that feeling, I made the same mistakes over years until I finally figured out that the way I start drawing is totally wrong for me. I used to estimate the place of especially the eyes and the distance between them which might work but it makes life a lot more difficult xD
thank you this will really help...i have more trouble with a straight on view of a muzzle...also i am much better with Canids then Felines or Mustelids. also i have an issue drawing an open mouth with teeth or any char snarling...i know the stapler trick but still it winds up looking laughable
Whereas you always have to keep in mind that measuring with eyes does not work with all (canine) species (or comparing distances between the eyes, depending on broader snout between e.g. foxes, which have rather slim muzzles and relatively bigeyes and e.g. spotted hyenas (yeah I know they're no canines), which have quite broad muzzles but in comparison to foxes rather small eyes), but for beginners it's a good guideline to start with. :)
(Sorry for the long sentence.)
Good job!

yes, absolutely right^^ but I think it works if you include the black eye-stuff (I have no idea how to call it xD) around the eye :) I have to recheck again and I am sure it won't work with felines at all =o And I'll add somewhere that this is just a guideline or a way to get an idea how it all works together. But after practicing a lot it will become easier and more natural to find the placement of eyes, nose etc so folks won't need guidelines at all :'D
