Background: Marian Dubree and Jonas were sparring partners and both teachers at a privately owned karate school for kids and troubled teenagers. Most Pokémon were normally afraid of their were-Pokémon counterparts -- with the exceptions of ghosts and non-organics -- but Lucarios made loyal and good companions. This was due to their ability to sense auras and human intelligence. As such, they could easily discern were-Pokémon as good or bad people -- not by instinct, but by their auras.
They'd been in the business since inheriting it from Marian's former human sensei, now deceased. Eventually, she got married to Lucas who inherited her were-Lucario traits inadvertently, and went on to have two kids. Though he was shocked to see that she had afflicted him without her warning him, he accepted it quickly. Their kids were both now well on their way to becoming green belts and he was excited to see when they underwent their first changes.
After thwarting off a team of Rocket Weres, Marian has agreed to help the Conchords overcome their were forms and give them the inner strength needed for control.
Personality: Kind and merciful, Marian believes in balance and looks for friendly, non-lethal competition even with opponents she despises. In dire circumstances, she will spare an opponent's life out of a personal code of honor. Determined by a need to stay strong, she focuses on her personal training, helping her students and managing the family. Her love for children reflects her empathy and her supportive well-being.
