Inner-Selves, No. 21, Part A
A few days later Macho and Sophie had completed their training, and Daisy was confident that they could hold their own in the ECC. "Both of you have worked very hard, you'll each be a great asset in this mission" the teddy bear said. Sophie smiled, Macho said nothing, as usual. "But there's one more fur that I think you should take with you, we'd best go find him" Daisy said. "Huh? But who has special powers besides us and Fidget?" Sophie asked. "You'll soon find out, I believe he's someone you already know" the teddy replied.
Macho and Sophie followed Daisy to a remote location in the park, where a regressed wolf was laying down on his back, barely able to catch his breath. He wore a red t-shirt, a pair of training pants, and a wristband that had just recently changed from yellow to green. The fur on his trigger finger was worn down, and his finger was bleeding from an obviously popped blister. "Is this him? He doesn't look like anyone I know" Macho said. The wolf opened an eye and looked up above him, he immediately saw Sophie and Macho. "I see you've completed some very intense training Seth" Daisy said. Sophie and Macho were taken aback, that little guy was Seth?! "Is that really him?! Awww he's so cute!!" Sophie exclaimed. She picked up the little wolf and squeezed him in a tight hug. "Ow, ow, ow! I'm hurting all over right now!" Seth shouted in his toddler voice.
"Oops, sorry!" Sophie said, putting him down. "So, what's up with him? Was he affected by Fidget's spirit energy too?" Macho asked. "No, Seth was born this way, he's what's called a trainee, a toddler-sized warrior that vanquishes spirit eaters with a water gun-type weapon" Daisy explained. Seth's eyes grew big, he stared at the teddy bear, and he was freaked out. "AHHHH, TALKING TOY!!!" he screamed out loud. "That's the most ridiculous reaction yet..." Daisy thought to herself. "If it makes you feel any better, it was quite a shock to me too" Macho said.
After Seth calmed down a bit, they explained why they came to see him. When they finished, Seth gave an explanation of his own. "I see, well I had a feeling Fidget would wanna go to the ECC, and I don't mind tagging along, but I wanna make one thing clear, I'm not in this because of any friendships I've forged among any of you, I'm doing this because I disgraced myself by losing to a youth sprite, for me, this is about redemption" Seth said. "We've been training too, we're going because Fidget and Kat are our friends, we wanna help" Sophie said. "Maybe you can help me as well, I need someone to help make sure Fidget doesn't take out every opponent we encounter" Seth said, jokingly.
Some time later, everyone, including Fidget, was going around the town taking care of any loose ends. They said goodbye to their friends, telling them to have a nice summer, stuff like that; of course they didn't tell them what they were doing, it's not like they'd believe them anyway. Fidget told his parents that he decided to hang out with Stryper at the beach for the summer, this was a lie of course, but then again, his parents wouldn't believe the truth. Everyone else had also made arrangements so as to appear that they would be gone for a while. In the midst of all this, Speckle and his team had been working night and day to get the gate leading to the ECC ready for their departure.
