A 2004 VW Jetta doesn't even come to the bottom edge of the fender of a 1983 M923 5-ton cargo truck.

I see what you did there, heheh. And yes it is quite high, but unlike most trucks of that type, this one might actually be driven off-road from time to time.

It is rather funny, looking at these pristine trucks with their off-road packages, that have probably never hauled anything more substantial than a new sofa, or even been driven on gravel, lest it scratch the paint.

Heh. Yeah I've got a '93 F150. It was a daily driver back in the day. It has always been a truck. A few years ago, I employed it to haul 2300 pounds of gravel to fix the spot where I park it on my yard. If I actually owned that army truck, it would be used correctly. Hauling cargo etc.

Just like my father, to an extent. '06 GMC Sierra, used to haul mulch, furniture, lumber, and his toolbox. Towed a nice little U-Haul trailer full of my mate's furniture some 500 miles to my new cozy. Now if only the air conditioning didn't keep turning off, bah.

I don't think these guys ever actually go to the field. Then again, in our unit, it's standard procedure to wash the dirt and/or mud off ALL the vehicles before leaving the field, so our trucks are also quite clean.

we used to wash all of ours too, either before leaving the field or as soon as we got back. even with all the washing tho, they still got beatup looking after awhile.
