Since Campfire Tails 2012 begins today and I'm not there, I may as well post this CFT-related piece that's been sitting on my hard drive for two years.

OBLIGATORY CFT SPIEL:
Campfire Tails (www.campfiretails.org) is a large annual furry campout in central Oregon. It's essentially an outdoor, do-it-yourself con. By "do it yourself," I mean the events and activities are largely organized and run by the attendees (people coordinate and plan beforehand via the site forum). There's an emphasis on creativity of all kinds, and the overall flavor of the event is sort of "mini-furry-Burning Man" (although probably less extreme than Burning Man in several ways). Maybe that sounds great to you and maybe it doesn't.

Anyway, CFT 2010 was my first time attending a large organized furry event of any kind. I use the term "organized" loosely, because there were still a lot of SNAFUs, but overall I had a blast. The theme that year was "Down the Rabbit Hole," so I submitted this scene of the Mad Hatter, Harch Hare, and Dormouse having a mad campfire. (It made the front cover of the conbook!)
