Rainfurrest 2011 was my first furry hotel con, and it was a really cool experience. More jaded experienced congoers told me they'd had better cons and they'd had worse cons, but everything was shiny and new to me, so it was easy to keep entertained.
The theme that year was "furry camping," and the con happens in the American Pacific Northwest (Seattle, Washington to be precise) so I submitted this scene of two furry hikers tracking down a female Bigfoot. This time I planned for it to be printed in grayscale, so I just added tones instead of colors and omitted the usual fancy airbrushing I like to do. (I believe this was printed on page 15 of the conbook, and got a full page!)

But of course! I have an affection for Pacific Northwest imagery and culture. My fursona grew up here, even though she was born (hatched) in Australia.
Although they won't ASK me to do another one, I'm a nobody. I just contributed this because I wanted to. I'm not con Guest of Honor material yet.

I did grow up here, and I will natter endlessly about it's history if not stopped. I should point out a few facts about what I have said so far.
The Tree Octopus is a delightful new myth that some prankster pulled to see if kids would believe it if presented like it was a fact. they did.
The Artiesians are another matter. I know about them from growing up in Olympia Washington. it was an ad campaign to sell the beer, originally, with silly little commercials like this one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eSnqQFY8fZ0
it's competitor, Rainer Beer, ran this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-qXa9oqKL6E both were popular, but the arteisians still stick in memory. ads like this one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bL6Oy6B2xT8 The beer is still with us, but made now in California. (Ick!)
So it's kinda a little thing the Brewery made up. now that the brewery itself is gone, we can have fun making up what they do next. About the only ground rule is that they are forever off camera. it's kinda the point.
Australia? I didn't know. I do hope you won't have any INS problems. I'd miss you if you were in AUS instead of here in Portland.
