The older I get
The more I can see
How much he loved my mother and my brother and me
And he did the best that he could
And I only hope when I have my own family
That everyday I see
A little more of my father in me...~ Keith Urban's "Song for Dad"
I've been thinking about my dad alot lately. His health has been up & down and while I'm not willing to share details... I'll just say the time I spend with him is going to be very dear to me from here on, though I'd like to think I've never taken him for granted to begin with. He's always the one I use to go to when I needed advice and consoling when others thought I was weird and strange in school, kinda like him :)
The reason I chose Dobermans for this simple piece is because my old man use to raise & breed them in his younger days. He tells me that he raised them so big that they could stand straight up on their hind legs and stare him in the face, and my dad's a whopping 6'5".
And while most of you know my fursona is a lioness, well, I'm a chip off of the old block when it comes to him and I'm very proud today to say I'm his daughter, so I thought a small green Dobie would be appropriate.
While I normally put my MS-Paint doodles in my scraps and I know it's not the greatest work of art I've made, this simple little computer doodle means the world to me as far as what this represents to me personally.
