I got my brothers slim PS3 for Christmas a few years back, well Me having 4 concels decided to trade in my PS3 and PS2 + some extra stuff and get a fat PS3. Boy has this blown up in my face,


First I was told I was getting the 80G model. well I get home try to hook up the wireless and Suprise! no wireless. WTF right, well com e to find out I have a 20G which did not come with wireless. so I take it back

The place I got it, Another Castle, was out of stock on 80Gs the model they told me I was getting and wanted me to pay 50 bucks more for there 60G they had in stock, so after some haggeling and complaining I get the 60G in exchange and no problems. ( I Bitched saying I wanted all my crap back)

So, yes there is more, a month and a half later it yellow lights. I take it back and it coasted me 60 bucks to get it fixed, and it broke again 5 times I have had it fixed, bleeding money into this fucker.


I finally just saved up the money and sent it to Sony for repairs. I get one of there refurbished concels back this Thursday, I am hoping my PS3 problems are over.


Damn Yellow Lights!

Yeah. The Fat PS3's are great for backwards compatibility. I miss that in the slims. The Fat ones have a heating problem. They fixed it in the slims, which is why they last longer. (Or so I've heard). Regardless, my old one is kaput, and I have a new one.

I wasn't going to send mine in for repairs because I didn't have the money. My dad had looked up how to fix it, so, working together, we both took it apart, reflowed the system, and put it back together. It lasted for about 1 1/2 - 2 months. Not too bad actually, since I'd heard it would fix it for this long. I bought a new system, and reflowed the old one once more in order to get it working long enough to do a data transfer (for which I needed an ethernet cable to connect the PS3's, which fortunately, we had). Everything worked. And now I have a working PS3. Thank goodness.

Unfortunately, something similar is happening to my Wii, but I need a blasted Tri-wing screwdriver to even start looking into it. All in good time. Thank you google. Thank you youtube. =3

yeah, I did the reflow a couple of times. Sony does offer a new slim system for 99 bucks in exchange for a fat model. just in case you want to make some money.
