INTENSLY CLEVER NAME I NO RITE!?
So here is a new species I designed n drew n colored and even given a history to em as well as nature n behavior.
FIRST: Greyscales are a summoned creature, a familiar of sorts. Their 'hands' are long n wide in order to grab n climb more easily, and their feet possess very flexible paws n toes. they have a way of storing things on their person by 'eating' them, it goes down a third tube from the mouth to their tail for storage for later use. Handy for taking lots of small things to even objects that might too big n awkward to carry normally.
have an average height from 3'9" to 5'. Their home in their own realm are mostly Jungles.
They are a very social creature, forming together families and living up high in the jungle canopy or within the high hollows of trees, some even building up tree houses for themselves. With their social circles they also have a high intelligence as familiars go, more then capable of reasoning things out as well as planning and hunting.
The hierarchy of the species revolves around the lead 'alpha male', who makes decisions for hunts: When to hunt, how to hunt and so on. They also resolves what issues between the other Greyscales that they cannot resolve on their own (such as where their 'nest' are and when other Greyscales fight over food). The alphas are chosen by the family by means of strength, cunning, as well as talent for storage. Their tails can hold just about any size of 'prey' inside soft pouches in order to carry them to the canopy for later use or for meals. The only limitation being how much they can lift, which isn't much as they can lift twice their body weight with ease.
Their jaws operate much like a snake does, it can dehinge itself in order to 'swallow' their prey. Their flexible maw n scales can expand as well to their storage, as well as bend in ways to avoid predators. Their tongues help when gathering fruits as they can stretch to their own body lengths, some even longer.
In a fight, by themselves, they are capable of curling into a ball and rolling, of all things. It has proven an effective mean to running away or building momentum. In pairs they can be quite a devestating force and is recommended to not try it (without protection...) and most importantly do not ever, EVER, harass a greyscale within the confines of their territory. Yes they are territorial, but will not attack unless provoked or if you invade their canopy. If they do attack .... well it was nice knowing you i'm sure.
