The Punk-Rock Look
Man, you can see the dinosaur resemblance when you see these birds during their molting season! Also, their ear is in a very unexpected place.
This molting pattern doesn't seem to be very common - it is an individual-dependent pattern, and most other birds molt gradually. This one and another male or two show this complete head-feather molt, but this one is pretty cute with some crest feathers either left or have just grown in.
