they're so sweet. they need their own tank though (other fish try to eat their gills, the pink frilly bits on their heads, which kills them), and they're a little difficult because they need an even temperature and a lot can stress them out (bright lights, currents from filters, tank being changed a lot, too much activity outside the tank) and stress can be a death sentence for them. that and they have a habit of swallowing rocks from the bottoms of their tanks >.>;; silly things
Cresteds are now Correlopus ciliatus, along with the Sara's. Apparently there are two types of cresteds now- ciliatus and belepensis being a possible sub species.
I guess it doesn't matter that you can get offspring from them. However to my knowledge all are male and infertile, like mules? so ?? SCIENCE!
