"Oh shit, oh shit, oh shit!" Lori ran across the set towards the spot her director had told her to after she'd heard the call for 'stunt double'. Lauren had already done her part, now it was up to her to avoid the deadly boulders that would potentially crush their equine star. The job had been the only one she could get in the film industry, and even though it hadn't been what she dreamed, she was glad to be working in television.
At the very least, she had her paw in the door, even if it was presently encased in a hoof boot. She resisted the urge to scream in panic as the director had admonished her for squealing the first time. This time she had to keep her wits about her and be a professional before anyone found out she had no idea what she was doing.
She whimpered inaudibly as she heard the clomp of her hoof boots, leaping out of the way of a giant boulder which the director had said they didn't use foam boulders because nothing falls quite like the real thing.
Lori missed it by inches, though she felt her real tail smack against it, landing on all fours.
"Cut! Print, that was gorgeous!" The director shouted.
Lori panted heavily, looking at the spot where her flattened corpse would've been if she'd been a bit slower. She began to wonder if this was worth it, when Lauren came over with a cup of coffee. "Hi."
"Great work, kid. You make me look real graceful out there, and I just want to say how much I appreciate it." She patted her on the shoulder, and walked off to talk to another cast member.
Lori sipped the coffee, taking off the fake ears for a moment and sighing. Maybe it wasn't the worse job ever, she'd seen one guy on the next set over who'd been naked and covered in molasses. Considering that, being crushed by a boulder wasn't so bad.
"Stunt double on the set!" the director shouted, and Lori simply heaved a sigh and stood up again.
