The "father" looks like a fox or something. The mother is a red panda. So how does she end up with two squirrels? I'm just saying lol, it does seem rather fishy. It does seem odd that he doesn't seem to mind the boy who is also a squirrel. Dunno, let's keep reading and the gaps will be filled in lol
Eh, sometimes fathers tend to be more attached to their sons than their daughters... personally I wouldn't know because I'm an only child and my own dad didn't seem to want much to do with me unless he had someone he needed to impress, but it seems that way with a lot of the parents I know... then again ZeeZee wasn't there at all so maybe the father doesn't like him either.
Actually its the opposite really. Fathers tend to be more hard on their sons because they see them as a man so they are more hard on them. Fathers tend to pamper their daughters. I have sisters so I've seen it, not to say my dad was harsh to me, just he treated me differently than my sisters. And Zeezee is in the room in this page. He didnt have a chance to leave before the father came in.
Everytime I hear or see something that has to do with an abusive parent, it latches onto my heart and stays there until I forget about it. It's one of the many phobias I have that keeps me up at night. I don't have abusive parents, but all these alternate reality stories I've read make me feel like I will.

True, and which also would connect to the dream of her in that torn up house.. That must of been her Father's house! But, since his attitude hints he's abusive, Then this would explain why Gem and ZeeZee got seperated. Meaning Gem must of gone to a Foster House for girls, And Zee Zee, Rasile and Renchu all went to a BOYS Foster home!
It's all coming together. But, what we still don't know is would Zee Zee and Gem ever be reunited, Cause I feel like one day Zee-Zee as a grown adult, Comes to file a case to Gem about someone stealing something of his, But then Gem realizes his signature Glasses!

I dont believe Zeezee is alive either. I think it's only Gem and her father that survived what happened. If you recall when she's about to put away the "vicious killer" it's actually her remembering her being used as a witness as whatever happened but was too young to be a credible witness against her father ie the vicious killer. Zeezee is not present at the hearing so one can only assume. However this is pure speculation based off of what I've read to date with personal leaps of logic. I could be very wrong, but I'm pretty sure I'm not. All I can do is continue to augment this scenarios with each page, but each page only convinces me more.
What? Gem is not an offspring of that whoever that man of a father is. Don't tell me Mama was a victim of accidental pregnancy from an unwanted relationship. Lack of blood relationship is nothing to be ashamed of, why else is Rasile and Zee Zee and every other relative, part of your family Gem? The man may look like Souffle but cannot be, Uncle Souffle would never regard Gem as a thing, unless he adjusted to her existence.
