As stated by Ukkappa the reason this Pikachu has a white stomach is due to it being an early design as seen here, http://29.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_l.....e9sho1_400.png. From what I gather it's possible that they were gonna make evolution between Pokemon more subtle? I dunno.

A sketchy Pikachu  ukkappa drew out a while ago that's based off the original, old style of Pikachu.

I was the one to colour it, add shading, etc. (like I do so much... ^^'). I'm so glad I didn't neaten up the sketch lines on this and merely changed the blue marks to black... gives it a certain feel of a style I have seen before but can't put my finger on...
