A very rare photograph showing a robbery in progress by the notorious outlaws Jack Salem, Tony ("Mulefoot") Ray and Drip Rat. Mr. Salem, a former Confederate officer, and Mulefoot, a Confederate soldier, served together during the Civil War. Nobody is really sure where Drip Rat came from.
This particular photo shows their typical MO, with Mulefoot standing watch and Salem getting the bank manager to open the vault. Drip is supposed to be emptying the cash drawers, but somehow, whenever he was allowed to choose the bank, there always happened to be some comley customers present. Hopefully he remembered to get the cash before Mr. Salem got back from the vault!
Historians still puzzle over exactly why Drip was allowed to stay in the gang, since he was clearly unmotivated by money or Confederate pride. The general consensus is that he was intended to be left behind as a distraction if a hangin' posse ever got too close to them.

My own thoughts on this great piece:
Some might wonder why someone like Tony-Ray, being a pig and so predisposed to bad vision, was left to keep watch.
Its that snout of his that's the most important. Better than a blood hound, he knows who's in town and how far they are away--when the wind is favorable, anyway.
Thanks for putting my pig in the picture. I'm mightily honored.

Tony-Ray is the logical choice here. No matter how poor his vision, you can bet Jack's is worse (he wears glasses for a reason)and his sense of smell isn't nearly as good. And-- there's no way in hell Jack would trust Drip to keep watch! Particularly if there were any ladies around...
