Today was the first uncontrolled sortie of the Hog Horde and they greatly exceeded expectations. For the first time since this conflict started, we may actually be gaining some ground in this battle. It's only a fleeting accomplishment though. Out of 10 units sent down, only two returned operational, both in need of major repairs. I fear we may have greatly underestimated the sheer will power of this planet's inhabitants.
Should this be a precursor of things to come, the bloodless answer I've been looking for may be more rooted in naivete than reality........
I've still got to try though. These are lives not numbers on the line.
