He knew I didn't have it easy...he understood...
I wasn't really one of them...never was...never will be. Even though everyone's hair was as white as the moon, I knew mine wasn't something they disliked. It was my eyes...they couldn't get past the fact that I lacked that deep darkness that they believed showed their strength, their determination, their passion.
I used to hate them. So many times did I wish I could simply gouge them out...after all, I'd be better off blind than...different. Then I began to think of running away. I was abandoned to begin with....maybe I was just destined to be alone.
One day however, Kyo took just a little to the north of the Ether's forest to show me his beloved Mugen that he had talked about numerous times before.
After some walking I started to notice glowing patches in the hills further up. It wasn't until I came closer that I started noticing something familiar...a bright coral color, that much resembled my eyes. The moved swayed back and forth, as if dancing in the moonlight, becoming more and more vibrant as we approached.
Kyo sat down close to one of its buds and motioned me to sit by him. The mugen, whether it was curious ...or familiar with kyo, came closer to him, landing on his hands...as if to allow Kyo to caress it.
"What do you think? like them? he asked.
I confessed my fascination towards them, specially towards it's vibrant coral colors and lights. The way it carried a warm sensation that gave...some sort of comfort to my heart.
Kyo turned to me, "you know...I get that same feeling...from your eyes." and he smiled.
Suddenly, any and all frustration and hatred I held for my eyes just...vanished.
Kyo turned again to the flower, giving me a quick glance, as if to invite me to play with it too. I extended my hand to a flower who shared a color I had suddenly come to love...
and for once in my life, I was happy.
I know ...I'm not a writer >.< so don't shoot if I got a lot of errors in crap and stuff, I just didn't wanna draw a whole comic around it...
Sorry for ze long story thingy, if you read it cool if not whatev.
Just thought I'd do these every once in a while, showing a little about little Kyo and his life before the events in my comic. I won't be doing a whole lot, but you get to know some important things for the future (assuming I get to it hahah)
eithe way, totally enjoyed working on this bg and the characters and everything X3 difficult yet fun experience to draw that plant hahah
Incidentally, the mugen is just one of the living species that exist in the Guardian Bell's world. generally looks like a patch of red grass until the moon comes out. That's when as they come out, as if to bathe in the moonlight, and love to dance from time to time. (don't think frantic shacking, just a very slow series of movements, as if it was a slow wind moving them) They are also very playful things that enjoy the company of travelers. Also, on rare occasions (when they're having a lot of fun, or they're fond of someone) they'll offer up leaves to make a sweet tea that most travelers seem to love.
