A picture I should have uploaded ages ago, but never had the time to do it. Well, here it is, at long last!
Just me standin' there with ma rig, chillin'. This was the actual truck I used to drive, up until recently when it got replaced with another. Sad times...really loved that truck! Certainly been some places with her. hauling anything from 60ft flat bed steel trailers to 45ft reefers.
This was a commission from
hancockshire that I got a while ago, and have always wanted to get. Go check him out...his art is really fantastic!

Oh yes...I'm being all fancy there, with a Merc truck! lol It certainly was a great truck, and drove so well. Just a shame it got replaced, as I am driving a 2010 MAN TGX 440 now. Yeah, 44t is a bit light for it, as I'm sure it would be fine with heavier loads, its just what the truck is licensed to carry on UK roads which determines that, unfortunatly. It had no trouble hauling upto 44t, so it would have been better if the GVM could have been increased.....I sure wouldn't have minded! :D What kinda truck to you have, bud?
Ewwww MAN >.<
I hate those things! You have to wear a seat belt because the seat suspension will send you into orbit!
Im in a real truck hurr hurr hurr :P
4800FX Western Star, 500hp Series 60 Detroit motor, 18 speed road ranger with a GVM of 90 or 100t i can't remember but it goes hard and makes lots of loud noises and smoke. No air con in it atm because the bolt hole for the compressor pisses out oil from it being machined badly when the motor recently got rebuilt so its now got a bolt that's siliconed into it permanently, so i ave to move it one bolt hole up which means longer belts, taking the horton fan off and some other shit to put it on. Its pretty much a days work....

Lol, I know the feeling there! XD I'm not overly keen on MANs either, and know just what you mean about the air seat....there are several dents in the cab roof from where I have bounced and hit my head on the roof. lmao I usually lock the seat so it doesn't move which makes it a little better. lol I find that they are rather sharp and 'grabby' on the accelerator, well, this one with the auto transmission is, I don't know if the manual version is better, but it makes delicate manouvers rather tricky at times. XD Still wish I was driving the Benz!
Awesome! That sounds like a pretty neat truck there dude...great with plenty of power and also being an 18 speed, which I bet is very practical. Which I found this with the 16 speed Renault Premium I had in the pre-Merc days. You're lucky that you can haul as much weight as that, which makes the 44t here look a little feeble. lol So much better in my opinion. It sounds like thats quite a task to do that repair on your truck, dude, but I'm sure it will be figured out one day, as air con is a great thing to have, especially on long drives! I've just had to repair the exhaust brake on this MAN I have, as the shaft which controls the flap inside the exhaust pipe snapped off completely, so had to put in a new flap and rods before it fell into the turbo! lol Not a bad job, took maybe a couple of hours, if that. hehe

Hehe, me too! I've always liked the bigger Axor and Actros's. They look the business and drive amazingly. I did have the pleasure of driving a 2004 Axor before this one, which was a great truck. So I'll certainly agree with you there! Have you ever had a ride in one, then, if you don't mind me asking?
Kinda wish we could get the big Mercedes over in the US. They're very uncommon, but the total GVW is 80 tons, I think.
We DO have MAN buses in Oklahoma City, though. They're always in the shop... Takes 3 weeks to get parts from a depot in Canada.
I make do with a 1970 Dodge D-800 licensed to haul small trailers. I rather doubt you've got many of THOSE in the UK!
Yours is cleaner. I'm jealous. If I cleaned mine up like that, it'd probably fall apart...
