Number 2 of 4 planned pictures. This is based upon the Railway Series books by the famed Rev. W. Awdry. I changed the livery for the two Sodor images because it makes more historical sense.
This type five brute is Lincoln, shown here in his present EWS livery. Built at Crewe in 1984; he spent much of his early years handling goods traffic on the central section on the East Coast Main Line around Doncaster and Peterborough. Aside from delays, occasional break down or hot box, it was an uneventful time. That is, until privatisation began looming. When privatisation occurred in the early 1990s he was sold on to English, Welsh and Scottish. From then on he was confined almost exclusively to what has now become the South TransPennine line moving freight to and from Grimsby Docks, the Scunthorpe steelworks and Doncaster where newer mainline diesels would pick up and set down said freight. After just over ten years under EWS and only 20 years total service he was placed in storage awaiting, he thought, the cutters torch.
This description is pending further expansion and updates once I discuss the character further with the members of Sodor Island forums.
