Death is Silent
He sat there in the rain hood covering his face, his twisted image was not what he wanted her to see or the oily black tears that stained his face from the time he fell apart He could feel the cold air blow against him creating a chill, he felt dead and he didnt care. He sat there for hours in the rain until he heard a sigh and didn’t look up knowing how it was most likely.”Yes? Can I help you?” He asked softly trying to fight back a painful cry. There was silence then he felt a hand placed on his head as he felt his hand warp into claws and he grunted as he forced them back, he wasn’t letting the tendrils of eldritch corruption get him, he didn’t want to hurt her just get it off his head. “You know why I'm here don't you? If so get it over with.”
He heard a brief grunt of disapproval. “You'll kill yourself if you sit out in the rain sitting in your drenched clothes.” He figured she would say that, she always hated when he did stupid shit. He lowered his head and nodded spitting on the concrete between his legs, it looked liked blood, tasted like blood, must have been blood. Ties use he thought but life was just that much of a bitch. “What do you want anyways, you aren’t speaking.”
He sighed and could feel the small creature bundled up around his neck squirm at the voice of her, he could feel through their connection the sadness it held. “I know you hate me doing this but I don’t know what to do, feel like jumping off the three mile bridge and plummeting to my doom.”He her her groan and mutter something about 'stupid emo shit' but he didn’t care. He held both hands out before him keeping his claws from manifesting as he felt a sharp pain in his neck from his small companion. “I wanted to say despite where you stand on the matters, I wont force you into something.” His sleeve slid back water weight as the two hidden brands became visible.”I'm just sitting here contemplating reality and not exactly wanting to go home.” It was true, IT was waiting at home waiting to devour him but she didn’t care, she didn’t believe him, she probably didn’t care if he died or lived since he wasn't her problem anymore. “Why do you ask?”
She swatted him with a rolled up newspaper with her free hand and sighed.”You said you wanted to see me you idiot, so tell me what the fuck you want.” She looked at his forearms and ignored the marks as she swatted him again trying to provoke a response.”Tell me now or I'm leaving.”
He sighed and blocked the swatting and stood up continuing to look down as he pointed to the box sitting where he had just risen from. “I want to say so much but you wont let me, you broke the very thing I entrusted you with.” He stepped away from her putting his hands into his pockets. “I gave you everything I could but it was never enough or the right thing, I tried at least and it got me no where except pain and misery.” Misery, that name was a blight upon his mind, a thing that would devour people like him.
She growled and glared at him. “Just forget everything then!” She knew he couldn’t, it was impossible for him to forget, his mind was made up to brood in the dark. She adjusted her bag and looked around then back to him as he stood in the rain remaining silent. “I cant help you love the darkness, you wont leave it, you are such a stubborn ass about it and wont admit it.” That made him move and make some sort of sound for once but he only just began to move away some shivering.
Those words were poison to him, he 'loved' the Darkness, it was a lie she believed. “I don’t love the darkness, I hate it, I hate what it and you have done to me. You both have made me into a monster, I'm stuck in between!” His eyes filled with tears but she didn’t see but she did notice his voice crack and before she could react he began running away as he slipped in the rain falling face forward into the concrete but that didn’t stop him as he pushed himself up from his fall as he could hear her shouting at him to 'stop' or she might have been insulting him, he wasn’t sure anymore. He spat blood as he got up and began running again till he got to a cross walk and he could hear her getting close to the corner. He didn’t care though he was scared so he began to run across the road and mid way he was clipped by a oncoming car and it pushed him back as the car sped off. He could hear her scolding him for his stupidity but he pushed himself up and continued to run dragging his leg along limply as it ached with pain, he was use to the pain though since it was all he felt for quite some time.
The pain increased as he got away even as the shouting became distant. “I loved you and I failed you.” He began walking back to that spot he ran from hoping she had left as pain surge through him. She would yell at him for what he did, it would hurt but he didn’t care. The smell of blood lingered on his clothes as they revealed the injuries beneath and he still couldn’t feel but he felt the pain of the injuries begin to blossom and he tried to ignore it at best as the ground slipped from beneath him. When he got back to that spot he began to cough as blood splattered the concrete as he fell to his knees. It hurt and he heard her voice behind him, telling him something he couldn’t understand as the rain drummed against him. “I'm sorry, I'm so sorry..I wish I could tell you everything but I know you wont listen. I'm sor-,” and with that he stopped speaking and began coughing curling up as blood dripped from his mouth and the world faded to black.
