I don't usually post random photos, but these made me laugh so I wanted to share. :)

I made these 'roses' out of bacon today for  mbala for his nameday (a Czech custom like a mini birthday). I figured he'd appreciate them more than actual flowers.

They are super easy to make! Just soak some toothpicks in water for 5-10 minutes, roll bacon and insert toothpicks to hold shape, then cook on some sort of drained pan (I used a pizza pan with vent holes in the bottom, but could use a broiler tray or muffin tin or something) with another pan under to catch the drippings (I roasted some veggies under them which were delicious!) - bake at 400 degrees for about 45-50 minutes. Remove, cool, and stick on top of fake flower stems (just rip the flower part off them, they usually have a little plastic piece that sticks up into the bacon easily or you can add a toothpick there). Voila :)
