Blake's first ref in... 3 years? Three years. He was designed for me by my boobins  kaylink, back when we were running the Deluxe Design Center. I stole a shit-ton of fox designs from her.

He's a supporting character in a story about people reincarnated (kind of) as spirit foxes.

They're essentially guardian angels, based on a combination of Native American and Japanese spirit fox lore... stuff. In return for a second chance at life, it's their job to protect/rescue wayward souls who have lost their way for whatever reason. Blake died during the black plague in the middle ages, and is therefore super nervous and a total germaphobe, but he's sweet otherwise. He's good at his job and probably saved a lot of people before his story starts in the 1980's, when some asshole goes and gets herself killed and becomes his apprentice. He's supposed to teach her how to be a good spirit fox, but she gives absolutely zero fucks and does not listen to him.

Not for a lack of effort on his part mind you. Blake is just trying to do the right thing. But it's hard to do anything but tear your hair out when you are spiritually attached to Ronny. I'll have to do a ref for her too.

There's a third fox, Calloway, who is also an asshole. Poor Blake is so outnumbered. His afterlife sucks, basically. Also he is afraid of the refrigerator. How does I electricity, wat.









Still give all the credit to my boobins for designing him for me. She is the master of all things fox and this ref was her idea.

Character and story are mine though. Not that you care.

As a personal note for myself: the feather on his tail is modeled after a European Wren. But they are nowhere as big as that feather... whatevs.

Second personal note: if he had a voice actor, he'd be voiced by Daniel Radcliffe.
