(If you like this picture you can COMMISSION ME!)
First and foremost. The background is jacked. If I get a compliment on it, I'll beat the living snot out of the person for a.) Complimenting something that I did not do and b.) For not reading the first line. Clear? Good.
After receiving several pieces of gift art from Bowser The King of deviantArt , especially of one involving a misplaced Attract leading to a tango, I couldn't help but think this current concept was in order. Zerosus is his Mewthree, and the belle is my Swadeaqua. Seemed like a good giggle-inducing idea at the time since he's quite beastly, and Swade at least thinks she is a beauty. Granted, neither look good in gold colors so they're equal fashion disasters.
For actual drawing, that is my own style. To the actual references it involved watching the dance scene ad nauseum for pose and about everything else. Turns out that not only does Disney color lines, but their way of shading is done so by taking the palate and toning it down, rather than just adding shadows. In that regard, they're rather minimalistic. Background is basically grab from a movie still and then butcher it to get something that was a rather high shot to a more low angle, and then cropping and removing characters and yada yada; stuff that cheapwad photomanipulators like myself excel at.
(One thing I hate about Disney, if you want to represent Beauty and the Beast in any manner that isn't them, then everyone gets mad at you for not making it look Disney-enough (because there so was talking candles in the fairytale...). And then in turn, if you want to make it look like how everyone envisions Beauty and the Beast, you get sued. I call parody, so suck it, Mouse.)
