You shall bare a new name, and if you promise your loyalty to me, and do not break this vow, I shall give you a seat at my side to rule over the fragile fabric of death.
Azrael wasn't always the angel of Death. In fact, he was one of the few angels who hated to follow rules and one of the first of Morteus's angels to fall. But after realizing what a grave mistake he had made, he begged Morteus for forgiveness, and Morteus granted it, knowing that Azrael would never turn against him again, he gave him a new title, an arch angel's halo, and made him the ArchAngel of Death.
