This is a photo of the High Bridge and the High Bridge Tower in NYC. The bridge was built in the mid 1800s and the water tower in the 1870s to carry the Old Croton Aqueduct.
The bridge has been closed to the public for around 40 years. At some point in the future, the NYC Parks Dept may once again open this area for public use. The photo was taken from the Bronx side looking west towards Manhattan. There was just barely enough of a gap in the gate to get a photo. Taken in December 2009.
