The foamwork for a head I'm currently furring. This one's going to be black, white and grey, and called Gravy. It's my 2nd head. I plan to do another (as I cast two noses) that is brown tones.
There's no concept art for this as I'm making it up as I go along. Just trying to use up all the fur I've accumulated over the past few years. ^^ Wanting to get him done pretty soon, but Uni's rather busy atm.
Hopefully it helps someone else with their head structure. Will be scrapped once the completed head it posted.

Thanks!
I normally use medium density foam. (My local store doesn't give it a special name, its just called that. (They're Clark Rubber, a pool store that sells.. foam and rubber). I avoid Memory foam and Premium High Density foam. I buy foam off cuts, 5 for $1. They're normally pretty small, 10x15x20cm ish, but it's soo incredibly cheap to buy them that way. Large chunks are easily $40.
Generally I use a knife to cut out the basic shape, then I use scissors until its the shape I want. Sometimes I'll cover that with 1cm thick "peeled foam" to give it a smooth finish. Peeled foam is just foam that is created in a thin sheet, rather than large chunk.
Hope that helps!
