The Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity hosted its 2012 national convention at the same weekend and in the same hotel as IFC. At first this seemed like a rather awkward pairing, but on Saturday night a frat party erupted in the lobby that was soon attended by a few suiters (namely Taiko, Stitch, and I, as far as I can recall...) and some other furries showed up and were welcomed with open arms.

They loved us. We loved them. We threw down together in a spirit of togetherness, a bond forged of brotherhood and alcohol. A few speeches were given by members of both sides (myself included) lauding the unity of the two groups and the mutual respect each side had found for the other. I was talking with some of the guys, and they said that they were genuinely surprised that we'd be willing to party with them, much less be so much fun to party with. Many shots were taken and much fun was had by all. The Vice President of the whole fraternity (some old guy) came up to me afterwards, gave me his number, and told me he would be interested in talking with me about starting a Sigma Alpha Mu chapter at UGA. Woah. I mean, I don't know if he was drunk or not, but.. dude. That's pretty cool.

So some guy came up to me and was like WOAH NICE SHIRT, and I was like.. WOAH NICE SHIRT because he had a PWS shirt, too, and we had an instant bro connection. He offered me $60 cash right then and there for my head. I was pretty hammered, but not that hammered.
