While the spectrum of fox colors never ceases to amaze me just the range of coloration that the red phase alone can achieve. This striking chap arrived today with plans for a red fox Spook. His ears are going to go towards repairing another red fox pelt that resides in my own personal collection. I pulled him out and had to see how he looked outside as the deep crimson hues on his fur caught me off guard severely.
While he is lacking his forward most part of his front paws, he has everything else, right down to the scotum (first male that I've handled that has had it). I just love the dark grey throat patch.
I know a good handful of folks would look at this fox and say that it's mountable. I am posting something shortly after this as why he is very much NOT mountable. Even though this fox is nearly complete, he is still classified as a wallhanger/spook fox, nothing more.
Yes it is real, no I did not kill him, no I did not have him killed, no he was not skinned alive or ranched. He was a wild red that was getting into some farmers chickens in Wisconsin :P
