Flesh Flowers are predatory plants native to the thick forests and swamps of Marnarth. They are very adapted to surviving and hunting in the areas they grow. Feeding on anything from birds to Asarins. Unwary travelers on a trail close to a Flesh Flower may also become an unfortunate victim.

Flesh Flowers hunt by extending their long vines out around it. Generally they have between four or six of these vines. When a potential victim passes close the vine, the Flesh Flower senses the vibration and lashes out, wrapping around the unsuspecting victim's leg and dragging them to it. Once the victim has been caught, the Flesh Flower raises them into the air and only then does it open to reveal its thorn teeth-like lined inner petals with bubbling bowl of digestive juices. The long hair-like vines that extend up from the rim of the bowl act as pressure sensors. When the victim is dropped and hits one of these hairs, the petals snap shut like a trap. Once inside, it is almost impossible to escape as the struggling victim is dug into and held by the teeth. Digestive juices then fill the flower to drown and devour the prey. A Flesh Flower may capture and hold more than one victim at a time, eating them at its leisure.

Flesh Flowers are not without other tools and defenses. If the victim has allies, it is able to defend itself with other vines with pod-like growths. These pods rupture and throw dozens of paralyzing poisoned thorns. The outside of the plant is hard like leather and also lined with a thick secreted mucus that fends of fire. While heat will still hurt it, actually catching it on fire is harder than one would think.

This is a monster from the RP " Isle of Dragon Teeth" that are doing. It is so much fun with all the planning and detail we have dumped into it.

Seth, Candy and Kavi have already encountered one of these. Seth being the unlucky one to get caught by it. But luckily he was saved by Candy and her army of hellcats. Can't wait to see how this story progresses.
