Good man. I say never give up on a song. Never think "I give up", if anything just say "I'll come back to it later", even if later is years. I have a few very long, complex pieces I'm still working on and it's been at least a year and a half for one of them.

I think that music can't really betray a person, but I'm not sure they can't hurt us. It might just be the memories engendered by hearing certain songs or music that can be painful, but I think the music has its own say. My whole "Aura" album hurts me terribly and I cannot listen to it anymore.

Not trying to change the way you think, I just want to be helpful to a fellow musicpath and musician.

Thanks so much. You are right about music being able to hurt you. When I write music for other people, I always write the song for myself first so that if relations between me and the person I wrote it for, go south, I can return to the feelings the song gave me before I made the dedication, and rejoin with the song without pain. I have many many songs I won't listen to anymore that I made, but mostly the reason for that is because I think they suck X3
