Once a simple construction worker from Tarn, Hammerstrike was always conscious of the extreme energy usage within the city. When he heard about the energy-conservation movement known as 'The Great Upgrade' (headed by Botanica and Beachcomber) he jumped at the chance to volunteer and was one of the first Cybertronians to undergo the process.
Whilst he's very happy in his new body he's increasingly aware of other Cybertronians looking down on him, both physically and metaphorically. It doesn't help that he and many of the other participants in the project have started to question their leaders' motives; with Botanica's increased obsession with organic planets and Beachomber's constant refusal to undergo the upgrade process himself.

This is my submission for shark week. I wanted to try something a little different.
Hammerstrike is based on his Beast Machines counterpart of the same name. As you can probaly tell his beast-mode is a hammerhead shark. I always liked the idea of the beast-mode head becoming the robot's hand, although I do think it's a little too small here.
