Take aim!
I draw this picture after watching recent news relative to shark fishing in protected area near La RΓ©union Island. You may find more information in this article. Ironically, it was almost happening during the βShark weekβ on FurAffinity. It is a funny coincidence, isn't it?
It is also the first time I am somehow satisfied with a digital colored picture. I used a fine marker for the line-art (Pigment Liner) and added some shadows with a black watercolor pencil (Caran d'Ache). The final result was obtained after several hours of work with The GIMP.
PS: In France, the death penalty was suppressed in 1981... for humans only.

Exterminating sharks to ensure the comfort of some surfers doesn't exactly thrill me.
Maybe the Cousteau's documentaries I watched in my childhood gave me some bad influence.
Thank you for the kind comment and for the favourite!

Why the Costa Rican government doesn't send its Army to protect them?
All right, my sense of humour is quite questionable not to say despicable.
Actually, I am quite surprised that there is no control. The Costa Rica is probably the most "ecologist" State in the world: 25% of its territory is protected and 5% of the Earth biodiversity is concentrated there. I am currently reading the Wikipedia article on this subject and it seems that the situation is perfectly under control... under the control of some Mafia. The financial power of those criminal groups is somehow disheartening.
Speaking of shark fishing, I recently watched the old Italian movie "Mondo Cane" (done in 1962) where an horrible way of killing these big fishes is shown: the sailors force some captured sharks to eat urchins and let them die in the sea. Here is an excerpt on Youtube. This scene (like other scenes the whole movie) is quite disturbing.

I think what I sort of am drawn towards the most here is the tears underneath the blindfold. Though it is sort of funny imagining how that happens even underwater hehe -w- I also really like your hatching in everything, hatching is great and I feel under-utilized by a lot of artists hehe.
