Well I definitely will say that this site helped; http://www.pixelovely.com/gesture/f.....uredrawing.php using that and drawing from it is invaluable and they even have one for animals. Not sure if you would be interested in that or not but figure drawing is totally the way to go (I admittedly don't do much and I should do more :<)
