So this is my current ride (not the bird, you pervs :p) with me standing infront while holding Cetan, the redtail hawk I am now working with. Uploading the pic to use a profile photo for the moment.
Car is a 2011 Honda CR-Z sport hybrid, a car I've wanted for a few years ever since I learned about it, and was able to find a used one for far below KBB value, so had to pounce on it. Photo is a few months old, have since added a few more decals and a new grill peice with LED lights.
Oh, and VTEC just kicked in, yo!

Yeah, it's a gas/electric hybrid, but takes regular unleaded gas. It used Honda's IMA(Integrated Motor Assist) system, which is really a mild hybrid. It has a small electric motor attatched directly to the drive shaft right before the transmission...the down side is that it's not as efficent as other hybrid systems, like the Prius which has a larger electric motor completely seperate from the gas drive train. As of such the CR-Z cannot run on electric power alone where as the Prius can, so I average around 36-39 MPG in the city with lots of stop and go and going up hills, where as the Prius can get mid 40s and even upto 50. The advantage of Honda's system is that it gives a lot of low end torque to the engine, which makes it pretty responsive, and it also allows for a manual transmission, which makes the CR-Z the only production hybird with a 6 speed manual when it was released, though mine is the CVT automatic.
And yes, it handles very well, having a sport tuned suspension, though it uses low rolling resistance tires, which aren't all that grippy. So plan on upgrading those when the curren pair wear out.
