As someone who also possesses a last name that seems to confuse people (thanks to an Sch- in my case, rather than a silent e) I certainly feel your pain there.
Thanks for your appreciation of the 4th wall humor, too! Snowe, as a character, is very aware of the fictional nature of his existence, so situations like this may not be all that rare.

Yeah, I actually follow a comic here on FA where the 4th wall (and the breaking thereof), is actually a regular part of the plot. Addressing the reader, poking fun at the artist, reading captions and thought bubbles, grabbing a hold of the edge of the comic panel, things like that.
My main characters are also aware of their fictitious natures. They're personifications of my various creative aspects, and they are aware of that fact, to the point that they know the rules of reality don't apply to them because they are not of the real world. "There is no spoon", as it were. I quite literally have given my muses an outlet to the real world, and it's been a blast slowly discovering them.

Yeah, I was never really all that active as far as community and having a real "presence" on FA until a time when I won a piece of art and didn't really have a character, at least not one that wasn't part of a specific continuity. The artist suggested using a photoshop picture I'd made and posted here, and the moment I named him Damian, it clicked. He became my muse, my first "for FA character", followed by the growing and evolving cast of "The Department of Creativity", and to my surprise, a fursona, something I never thought I'd have. But once it came, and felt right, Issac Evans came to be as my fursona, as seen as my icon.
And to boot, we ae both fans of vore. Fancy that huh? Also, seems you liked that otter pick. Yeah, the moment I saw that at the zoo, it was too cute a shot to pass up. I'm so glad I managed to keeo my camera ohone still enough for such a clear shot.
