One of Jessica's neighbors is the Fiveband family, who are also raccoons. Their oldest son is Kevin who at this time is 15. Kevin is like many boys at 15. Awkward. He is really fond of Jessica but always gets tongue-tied when she comes around. He is motorhead in training and can't wait to get his first car! For her part Jessica thinks Kevin is a nice kid and hopes that he'll grow out of this stage. Being a teenager can be so difficult!

Gee, I wonder what a teenager might find that distracting. Especially given where his eye level is.
*sigh* There used to be a batch of RC enthusiasts who'd use the parking lot near this big local Starbucks, on weekends. I always thought it gave the place a nicer, neighborhood feel, but I guess the police or the local businesses didn't feel the same way, and they don't do that anymore. Indoor tracks don't seem like the same thing really.

A lot of things have gone like that! I remember growing up and on weekends going down to the local high school and there would be people flying U-control aircraft and R/C planes, often with mufflers so they weren't too loud. The local lake had people sailing R/C sailing boats, and several groups raced R/C cars in the neighborhood industrial parks. All gone. Nowadays everything has become illegal. At least in most of California. I can't help but wonder if that is going to come back to haunt us someday.
That is most sad! California's lawmakers must be a buncha jerks who don't understand boys. I am now inclined to get a gas powered RC car, cause they're really fast! I've seen a few of these out east in what's called, and I don't know why, the Midwest. I'm from Indiana, but lived in Michigan a lot too, saw these there all the time.
