The Nocturnal Railfan
My regular hangout, Glen Rose Road, at thirty minutes past midnight. The awesome blue-green ambience is from the traffic light behind me. Notice also the twin shadows of my tripod cast by the double traffic signal.
Railfanning after dark has a totally different feel than doing so during the day--you're more focused on the sound and feel of the trains, rather than their appearance, and awesome things can be done at night with long time exposure!
