I thought about doing a drawing with Hellkitty and a tractor or a CAT scan or such, but decided to just draw a cat (after all, it’s expected that I’ll do the unexpected… or at least I like to think so lol). A friend gave me the idea to do a spin-off of “Le Chat Noir” which I thought would be pretty fun, especially since it would be Kitty just sitting there without it being a boring drawing of Kitty just sitting there.

I can’t do a parody without trying to do it well, since those are always the best and poorly-done ones just look kind of cheap. In a way the original artist’s loose work was nice because it meant I could free-hand it instead of using the pen tool. But on the flip-side it makes my work look messy. In the end, though, I’m glad for it because I think the extra work wouldn’t have been worth the improvement. The halo on the real image, though, is too lop-sided, and after doing mine like that I decided my drawing would look better if I made it using proper circles. The lace had been fun so I didn’t mind redoing it.
