I totally know what you mean. >_> I've had my Samurai Mouse ever since I was in middleschool, and now that there are a bunch of mouse stories out on the market there's virtually no way I think I want to get in on the market.
I got a little irritated because about two or three years ago I brought my Samurai Mouse designs with me to Gencon and the panel reviewing my portfolio wanted to take it out of the room. I told them no, that if they wanted prints they could contact me when I was home, but then all of a sudden a bunch of Mouse stories hit the market.
Needless to say I'm pretty nervous. I'd say do what a bunch of people do to protect their intellectual property by preserving the date of origin and mailing it to yourself then keeping the letter with the postmark date in your social security box until you have enough material to have it all copyrighted as a collection.

Well, I am lucky that my comic, although it's called "Mice" isn't really at all like Redwall or Mouseguard, etc. I was actually much more influenced by Jeff Smith and his comic, "Bone". Heh, the mice aren't even mouse-sized. More like short hobbits or something.
Also, I don't think my book will ever even get a wide recognition like Mouseguard, and self-publishing is probably going to have to be the way I go. This drawing in particular is Redwall universe based, so I don't mind. But draw a mouse and people are all like OMG REDWALL MOUSEGUARD! <=)
All that blabbing aside, I would be curious to see any art you had of the Samurai Mouse... anything online?

I do have a couple of the character drawings I put up last year. Like I said I've been uber hesitant about putting -anything- with my Samurai Mouse in it, up : ) Though they're all on elfwood

Lol <3 Yeah I love Jade Fan. : ) She's one of my favorite characters thus far. I really need to redraw these guys and post them up after having a few years of practice on anthros.
But like I said, even though the market's inundated with characters like yours and like mine, they're still awesome.
