its pictures from sl. Sometimes use them as a ref sheet for commissions. Yeah Trace knows how to find good paws. His commissions are usually based on creations he makes in sl. No one has yet to make a monkey head, so he's using an anime style head that is pretty cool. It creates emotions and all kinds of faces.

the only downside to mesh bodies is clothes. you have to wear mesh clothes and only ones made by the same creator. They started doing unrigged mesh, though. It helps some with that issue.

Ja that much I knew about mesh but just give them time :) soon enough they might have collision ability/properties :D

coming from someone who is just a n00b to programing, its not 'that' hard but what is hard is getting everything else to play nice with eachother and the fear of turning SL into a CPU and RAM hog.

but i can see something like that happening within the next 5yrs, give or take. I've practically been on SL since day one when it was just in beta, boy those were the days xD the rate of which they've grown is like experiencing the 80s and 90s then you hit the 2000s and everything suddenly kinda 'settles' and that feeling of progression fades as you get used to whats here and now.
God, I rmemeber if you went much higher than 800ft you would orbit yourself and forced to relog. Now, I pracically hover around the 5k feet range just fine (and lag free xD)

i can't get myself over 4500m. I've been on sl since 06. We were pretty ugly back then. I think the demands of the residents is what mostly changed it. Mesh came in after many demands to update so that we could have mesh. a few more updates are needed. the new co is working on all that. He should bring in a lot seeing as he was a head of EA, doesn't really rank high but ranks higher than the marking guy "M" for ceo.

Right. For now all I see mesh good for is body and 'some' clothing design. Their ToC on being allowed to use that ability is VERY strict, though for good reason I can imagine. I'm certified to uplaoded meshes but don't have anything that I'm not scared half to death to upload incase 10 lawyers suddenly come knocking on my door xD

hahaha yeah i doubt you'll have lawyers at your door. You'd have to claim you're selling nike or something for that. I want to learn mesh and sell it, but I can't til i get settled in cali. The residents on my land already make and sell it. They are up for teaching me.

Well like, I just glanced over the ToC but I recall something saying if the made up item is made to look like its reallife counterpart or even the name (ie; Nike --> N1Ke and the like) I would be in violation x.x And seeing as most of my automotive work closely resembles Porsche's 911 line (my interiptation of future models) it scares the crap out of me to even upload it for personal use xD

oooh. cars are made all the time. the loop hole they survive is they don't put a company name on it or they put their label on it. There are lots of loop holes. people whomake 'n1ke' are people desperate for sales. I can make shoes that say look like a nike shoe but can never call them nike. I deal in clothes. I know most of the rules. I would rather do an original creation of something I like than something someone else made. I do plan on making some geeky things, like off of geeky shoes i like.geeky fandom has some sort of loop hole. There are ways dealing with it. TBH most rl companies don't care unless they invest time and money in sl, like microsoft or ibm. Its really no different than FA's rules, i guess. They just worry about people stealing copywrites.

Is ok, and I know. What had me in such a scare of infringing was my car clubs website. The manager of the site had up a parts diagram of our model autos. Wasn't making any profit from the site at all, it was merely there to help us locate parts and their #s. Well, Porsche got wind of this and had one of their lawyers call the guy to tell him to take those charts down or-else.

It sucked too, because the way he had the charts set up was I could just click on a part and it would take me directly to where I would need to be. The funny part behind this story; all the links lead directly to Porsche themselves! So it wasn't like we were getting discounts xD I needed a waterpump and I was raped out of 900+ usd like everyone else x.x but I dunno, it was just weird that Porsche got so bent out of shape over that.

I do have a few personal designs though that aren't concept projections of established companies, infact, one of them was a project my friend and I were building :D

wow :O Thats crappy. hahah theres sorta a issue like that with youtube now. I watch the game show podcast. They can't show videos to promote games cause its a copyright violation and could get them sued. The hosts joke and say "hopefully we won't get hit with a copy right violation. Cause you know how companies hate having their games promoted." companies get out of hand at times with the internet. TGS use to use videos of major companies til they got hit with copyright violation.

I didn't build it. made the mod. He wanted a monkey in sl, but thats about as close as you can get, since there are no monkey heads.

hmm could probably mod a head to look more like a monkey but i'd have to look around for what would work best.

that was the best he could find. not many mods exist. i would suggest something with a short muzzle. the chinchilla mod seems good. it came out after he created that mod.

yeah that might be fun to play around with!
