Rip was silly enough to feel guilty about taking a while on a commission I have with him, and decided to do this gift of Rodent in another precarious situation. <3
I'm sure it won't be long before Rodent is simply too tempted to see what will happen, and his big feet will press down to set off the bear trap. At least it's nice to see that he won't have to suffer in agony for too long, before he's blown up by the grenade. Plus, the rat gets to enjoy a final cigarette for his troubles. :D
I absolutely love what Rip came up with here. The whole design of this contraption, as well as the look to Rodent hanging there, is simply fantastic. My thanks to Rip for this wonderful gift.

*laughs* I actually changed the title, because after thinking about it a bit more, I know that Rodent's curiosity would get the better of him, and he'd eventually push a foot down on that release, just to see what will happen. He's never been one to really think things through before acting. :)
*laughs* This isn't actually the commission. This was a gift from the mind of RipK.
However, this is the type of thing I would commission, if I had thought of it myself.
I fully realize it's not everyone's cup of tea, but I really do love seeing my characters in perilous situation.
Just like all the bad things that might happen in a Tom & Jerry cartoon, or a Spy-vs-Spy comic strip, I find it fun to try to imagine as many horrible outcomes as possible.

Heh the things you do when no one is around to help you avoid dying, sigh well looks like I'll need to find another of his cousin's to talk to.
Seriously though it's well drawn and really captures the poor guy's suspense, you have excellent tastes my good rat.

*giggles!* I love seeing the trouble that you fall into! Though I have to wonder if there's a time-delay reaction when the pin is pulled off of that grenade. Surely, there must be a few seconds that Rodent could escape from an explosive blast? (And don't suggest tossing that grenade up into my nest! Squawk!)
*smiles* Your commissions always makes me smile. Although I do feel bad for poor Rodent every now and again.

Here's a twist: Maybe the rope would slowly lower you down? The longer you leave it before setting off the trap, the more of you will get chomped by the trap. If you get too low, the hand grenade pin might not even get pulled out, and you'll have to content yourself with dying slowly and painfully from the blood loss. But if you wait, there's always a chance some good samaritan will save you before it's too late. Such a delicious dilemma for a rat who's not into snuff (but secretly is).
*laughs* Yeah, that may save me from the grenade going off, but then I run the risk of being decapitated when the steel bear trap snaps shut around my neck. :D
And someone save me? Who would go out of their way to save a rat, when they can just enjoy watching him squirm those final moments before being snuffed. ;)
