While I was spending some time outside in the backyard with my camera in November of 2008, this Northwest Airlines DC-9-31 did a rather impressive looking and sounding takeoff from the local airport.

Since this was a departure to the south, the pilot had to almost make a 180 degree turn to start heading for KMSP.

I sadly do not know the registration number of this DC-9, as my camera could not zoom in that far, but, since it looks older, I think it may have been #9927 reg. N8920E.
