Part 7/10
The Totodile literally felt his heart jump within his chest as his tail jerked in response to Leon sudden movement. His cheeks warmed as they blushed. It was in that moment that Vagus felt the throbbing pain in his head suddenly vanish. The sudden relief was followed by a sense of shock as the Riolu continued to press himself onto him.
Just as quickly as he had burst forward, Leon pulled out of his kiss and sat back. He giggled and turned away from Vagus’ gaze. Vagus was left rooted on the spot completely stunned by what Leon just did. He tried to speak, but found that he lacked the coordination to even move his mouth. He felt as though Leon’s kiss had sapped the knowledge of speech from his mind.
The Riolu seemed to be in a similar state. He slowly turned back to face Vagus, hiding his face behind his paws. “I-I-I’m…” His words failed to leave him. Consumed by a profound sense of embarrassment, Leon buried his face deeper into his paws.
Once again, Vagus let his instincts take hold. He was overcome by an urge to comfort Leon. To tell him that it was okay and that he too had the same feelings for him. “Hey…it’s okay,” he whispered. Leaning forward, he gently caressed Leon’s arms before endeavouring to move them away from Leon’s face.
Like a pair of fluffy curtains, Leon’s paws began to part and reveal his shimmering ruby eyes. The Riolu managed a weak smile when he looked upon Vagus. Like ice, Vagus felt his discomforts melt away under Leon’s eyes. There was nothing holding him back now. “Leon,” he whispered as he drew closer to his mouth. His heart began to race within his chest and almost doubled again in its beat when he felt Leon’s paws at his cheeks.
With gentle force, Leon tilted Vagus’ head to the side and allowed the tip of Totodile’s mouth the press against his. He giggled and hugged the Totodile’s head. With their discomforts melted away, their lips locked in a state of passion. Vagus held onto Leon’s arms and closed his eye as he became lost in the confusing feelings of first love.
Vagus felt a force being directed against him as Leon began to press his weight onto his body. Too lost in his passion, Vagus faltered and fell back onto the pillow. Leon wasted no time. With his mouth still pressed against Vagus’ he moved on top of the Totodile and continued the kiss.
To Vagus, the moment seemed to last for hours. He breathed through his nose, moaning as the sounds of their love filled the tent. He wrapped his arms around Leon, holding him dear. Eventually, the Riolu pulled out of the kiss and rubbed his snout against Vagus. He lay on top of him panting as he gently caressed Vagus’ cheek. He smiled more warmly than ever before.
Vagus lay under him, also panting. “T-that…was…” a short cackle escaped him before he could finish. “Y-you’re amazing…” He pressed a small kiss against Leon’s snout.
Leon rewarded Vagus’ compliment with a kiss of his own. “I…wanna be with ya more, Vagus. D-do you think that…we can….date.” The rest of his words failed to leave his mouth.
Vagus smiled and pressed his fingers against Leon’s mouth. “Shhh…” he whispered. “Save ya words, darl. Consider this to be the first of many,” He looked up at his new found love and watched his eyes waver with profound joy at his words.
The Totodile grinned and slid a small lick across Leon’s forehead. Leon was his, and would be his for as long as Vagus had love to give him. “Ya know...” he chuckled, his cheeks blushing with greater intensity. “There’s room for two under this blanket…”
Leon seemed neither shocked nor taken aback by Vagus’ words. Instead, his shyness seemed to return. Even so, it could not keep Leon from smiling as he pulled the blanket up and slipped underneath it with his love. He lay by his side and silently gazed into Vagus’ emerald green eye.
From outside their cocoon of newly found love, the lantern inside the tent shone with a contrast to the gloomy forest in the early morning. Out in the cold morning air, Leon and Vagus could be seen as two distinct shadows. Slowly, their figures came together under the blanket and merged to become one.
A gentle breeze stirred Vagus from his thoughts. It was a cool but barren breeze. The winds around the lake usually carried with them the strong aroma of pine trees and other vegetation. Even here at Tao Lake, Sobert’s rampage had left its mark. The tree’s sagged and looked upon the land as though exhausted. Even the reeds that Vagus lay upon seemed somewhat dead.
A sorrowful sigh escaped him. It seemed that even the beauty of Tao Lake was to remain a memory for him. He closed his eye tight. The sight of his once beautiful home was beginning to fill his heart with grief. It was there that he sat in the dead reeds, alone with his troubles once more. He didn’t want to live in a world like this.
He tried again to immerse himself in his memories and for a moment he thought that he had succeeded. He could feel Leon’s fluffy paws around him once again as they hugged him from behind. Vagus smiled as he felt his love’s affection around him. Even though it was all in his mind, Vagus was pleasantly surprised at how real they felt.
“Guess who,” came a tender voice.
Vagus’ eye shot open. It was real. Much too real to be a mere memory. The realisation had taken him by storm. He flinched, almost jumping to his feet in surprise. Before his eye, a familiar face presented itself. As it always did, it unveiled a warm smile and an unforgettable pair of ruby red eyes. “Leon...” he whispered. His heart was warming with joy. The world around him shared his happiness. With Leon by his side, it was now a world he wanted to live in.
