Neither of mine are fancy, but the one was rescued from a friend who could no longer keep him. When I got him he was small, and sort of a pale grey/red. Now he's a fairly normal sized boy who's bright red and even has a small blue tail streak developing!
Thier both probably 2-3 years old, the rescued one may be even older.

I understand this face... So very well. I have an old (he's about 4 or 5 now), SUPER GRUMPY, betta named Officer Handsome. He has grump face ALWAYS... Though it's accompanied by much flaring. Because he hates all things. Especially me. My husband's betta, Black Dynamite/Feesh/Lucky Sabiti/Blackie/We can never agree on a name is SO MUCH friendlier.

That aside... You captyured betta grump face SO spot on- I love. ... And that coloring. Noticed in above comments it's mustard gas? Neat. :>

We have a black and orange mustard gas named Beta Betta, and 2 beautiful spunky female bettas, Crona and Char. Such personality in such small fishies. I love them.

Bettas are such underrated fish as far as personality goes! My little betta is way more interested in me than my giant angelfish (who only wants my food haha)

BUU I know right? Bettas are a gateway fish! Char is a big sweetheart too even though he looks so grumpy. Also I love that your betta has such a regal name, too! ;)
