I see the template, do you just crop each one then put them in sequence? I only ever did two animated icons in my life and they were not like this

Yep! I cut them out, set the layer mode to multiply, put them in sequence, then color on a layer underneath the linework frame (so it goes: lines, color - lines, color - lines, color, etc) and in Photoshop you can open an 'animation' window and set the framerate and all that jazz. If you don't have Photoshop, I am sure there are other programs out there. I used to use one called GIF Construction Set Professional.
