I met Mozdoc at FC '07 when he asked me to do a conbadge for him. The description of his character was mind-bogglingly intriguing to me, considering I like to (read: MUST) consider the realism and practicality of a thing when drawing it. When he mentioned he might like a commission at some point I had to figure out how the anatomy would work.
Ultimately, I asked if I could sort of alter the character design a little. The idea of three torsos neatly in a row, and many sets of legs neatly in a row didn't make anatomical sense to me. What did make sense to me was a situation of multiple Siamese twins stuck together in odd and irregular manners.
I was going for a macabre feel to this and am very pleased by it. I would like it to be known that i DREW EVERY DAMNED HAIR! It was tedious, but I really like the level of detail in the coat it resulted in. Some props must go to Kesame for her fur tutorial (http://www.furaffinity.net/view/832313/) which was something I was trying out with this piece. Concerning the background... guess what? I discovered PS brushes! Yay! I admit I went a little overboard with them, but I think the overall effect is good and pleasing. Brushes were obtained at Obsidian Dawn (http://www.brushes.obsidiandawn.com/brushes.htm)
My general idea for this pose was that the three heads (and respective torsos) are all vying for dominance and fighting amongst themselves. I thought it added an additional level of ferosity to the appearance of the character.
This was commissioned by Mozdoc, the character belongs to him.

This is complicated and difficult to look at, but I like it for that. This piece is as challenging to the viewer as it must have been for yourself to create. The detail is at once clear and chaotic and the feel of it is exactly as you described, which is no mean feat in itself.
Very often these topics are dealt with crudely but this is something astounding and for that reason I would be wrong of me not to add this to my list of Favourites.
