I know the notion of an anthro in the Imperial Guard is, well, heretical! But all the same, this is a character I created for the role-playing game 'Only War'. A Genetic mutant from the depths of a none-too-pleasant Hive World, Lyra was rounded up along with similar of her kind and sent to die on the front lines, but due to positively inhuman luck (pun intended) she survived these repeated attempts to get her killed, and eventually earned herself a genuine rank and position within the Imperial Guard. Still shunned for her 'imperfection' she nonetheless fights on, managing to survive all kinds of bizarre and excessively dangerous situations.

actually there is anthros in the Imperial army. These are called Beastmen. Beastmen are treated as penal legions because of their mutations but are accepted because they are fanatical loyal and they fight to be cleansed and thats only through death in combat that they can get that.
