Each year I make it a point to attend our county fair. This year they had a wild predators exhibit and this cutie was a part of it. For 10 bucks I was able to hold one of my favorite animals in the world. Her name is Salt, a young arctic fox kit. Very soft fur. VERY sharp claws, too.

(By paying for the photos I was given permission to share to my hearts content.)

I was surprised. The program guide said just to hold her like a cat and she relatively stayed in place.

Hee hee, yes she was. I wish I could have spent more time with her but there was a line and the stage hypnosis act started in like five minutes xP

This was in the middle of August and definitely very warm. She still kept her coat nice and white although they could only bring her out for short periods of time given the heat.

It was really cool getting to see a bunch of young kids completely astounded by the presentation. The guides made the point that they hoped they could rekindle a love for animals in the young generation and I think they did such a good job =)

I think she has a lot of practice since it appears to be either her or a baby crocodile that people get to have their picture with. I wish I could have held her a bit better but she was a little squirmy xP

I really did try to keep a good part of me in my fursona. The biggest difference being is that Esca's hair goes down to about his shoulder. Mine could never get that long, even if it I didn't cut it for months.

The group that puts on these shows is called "Predators of the Heart." Never hurts to look at their webpage to see if they'll be nearby =)

Ahhh I've been around Wolves and a pair of Coyotes a couple of big cats but not a fox. I have two fox dens with in 150 feet of my door and now then then I'll hear them on the porch. They do help keep the rodents in check around here.

That's cool =) My parent's neighborhood also has a fox there for its territory. I was so happy to get to hold this one though close.
